Le 20 février 2025, le Bénin a perdu un homme de grande valeur, Kouaro Yves Chabi, Ministre des Enseignements Secondaires, Techniques et de la Formation Professionnelle.
Ce tragique accident de la route s’est produit sur la Route Nationale Inter-États N°2 (RNIE N°2) près de Badékparou, alors que le ministre se rendait à Parakou pour célébrer la Journée Internationale de la Langue Maternelle. Son véhicule a heurté un camion lors d’une manœuvre de dépassement.
L’accident a également coûté la vie au sergent Kawepo Sabi Christian, le garde du corps du ministre. Le chauffeur été grièvement blessé, tandis que l’épouse du ministre, Mme Anagio Reliques, bien que ne présentant aucune blessure apparente, a été placée en réanimation par mesure de précaution..
Né le 19 mai 1973 à Tanguiéta, Kouaro Yves Chabi était profondément engagé dans la réforme du système éducatif béninois. Sa disparition soudaine a plongé le pays dans une profonde tristesse. Une enquête est en cours pour élucider les circonstances exactes de cet accident tragique.
